Taking care of your health is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Baylor College of Medicine experts have plenty of tips to help you stay healthy. This month, our experts offer two Health Hints on heart health, since February is Heart Month.
Your heart health could be improved by talking to your doctor about risks, prevention, treatments and even difficulty with medications. Understanding what your numbers are, why you need to make lifestyle changes, and why certain medications must be taken at certain times helps you take control of your health.”

“Some lifestyle modifications to improve heart health include: diet (reducing saturated fat and increasing fruits, vegetables and fiber), weight loss, controlling cholesterol and blood pressure, reducing blood sugar levels and quitting smoking. All of these factors should be discussed with your doctor to find what healthy levels are right for you.”
