National Allied Health Professions Week is being celebrated Nov. 7 – 13, 2021. Allied health professionals are an important part of the healthcare team at Baylor and its affiliates. In addition, Baylor is training the next generation of health professionals, including physician assistants, nurse anesthetists, genetic counselors and orthotists and prosthetists.
Music brings emotion to any situation, and many rely on music and sound for therapeutic reasons. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Baylor’s Christina Reed saw a place for music therapy for obstetric and gynecology patients.
National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 – 12, but this year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s especially important to recognize our nurses for the care they provide patients and their contributions to the mission of Baylor College of Medicine.
National Medical Assistants Week was celebrated Oct. 21 – 25 at Baylor College of Medicine, and across the country. These medical professionals play an important role, performing both administrative and clinical responsibilities.
With the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services surveys at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center fresh in attendees’ minds, the Sixth Annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Conference drew a large crowd to Onstead Auditorium April 25.
