In the early morning hours of a warm spring day, the Houston Zoo said goodbye to Baylor the Asian elephant who will now call the Denver Zoo his home. Baylor’s move symbolizes growth, progress and more than 14 years of successful collaboration between Baylor College of Medicine and the Houston Zoo.
Dr. Mark Kunik has devoted his career to helping elderly adults, particularly those with memory disorders, as a professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine.
After several COVID-related delays, Houston medical institutions piloted an Interprofessional Elder Abuse and Mistreatment Simulation in mid-June, bringing together more than 190 students from five different professions to learn best practices for a vulnerable community.

In September, Baylor’s Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery hosted the Welsh Minster for Education, Kirsty Williams, at the College as a part of an ongoing collaboration between Baylor and Swansea University in Wales.
