Health Hint

Taking care of your health is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Baylor College of Medicine experts have plenty of tips to help you stay healthy. This month’s Health Hint offers advice for the coming flu season.

The best way to deal with the flu is to not get it in the first place by getting vaccinated. The flu vaccine is now recommended for everyone over 6 months old, including pregnant women. If you do get the flu after being vaccinated, it’s likely to be a milder version. For those who don’t get vaccinated, go to the doctor at the first sign of symptoms and get on an anti-viral medication. It’s also a good idea to get the whole family on anti-virals if one person comes down with the flu.”
