Department: Orthotics and Prosthetics in the School of Allied Health Sciences

How long have you been at BCM? Almost 2 years

What’s your favorite thing about working at BCM? The people here are truly a team and not just in my office. We have asked for assistance through facilities, IT, communications, etc., and were always greeted with a smile and a “What can we do to help?” BCM is the first company I’ve worked for where this philosophy is companywide without complaints.

Where were you born? Houston

What is your favorite kind of food? My favorite food is extra spicy hot wings, but my favorite kind would be seafood. My son and I have an ongoing contest of who can eat the most shrimp scampi during the all you can eat at Red Lobster.

What is your favorite restaurant in Houston, and at that restaurant your favorite dish? Brewingz. I’ll take a plate of extra hot, bone-in hot wings, seasoned fries and fried pickles, please!

What’s on your music playlist? A wide range of old and new country, pop, Christian and classic rock and roll. Some specific songs would be “Call on Jesus” by Nicole C. Mullen, “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink, “King of the Road” by Roger Miller, “Jack and Diane” by John Mellencamp and “Whatever She’s Got” by David Nail.

What is your dream vacation? My dream vacation would be to tour Australia. It is a beautiful place in pictures, and I can only imagine it is more breathtaking in person.

What is your favorite TV show? I have three that are on record: “The Mentalist,” “Hart of Dixie” and “Criminal Minds.”

Complete this sentence: Most people wouldn’t know that I…. am the only person in my family to earn a college degree. I received my AA in December 2009, my BS in June 2013 and should receive my MS in January 2015.

What are some of your personal hobbies? I love to spend time with family and friends. I enjoy water skiing, fishing (preferably salt water), mudding, camping and traveling.

Last book you read? “90 Minutes in Heaven” by Cecil Murphey and Don Piper. It is based on a pastor out of Pasadena, TX.

Last movie you saw? “Anchorman 2”

Any kids? Pets? I have four kids. I have three girls: Cecily, 25, Cheyanne, 19, and Skye, 16, and a son Shayne, 22.  I have three granddaughters: Kayleigh, 7, Kara, 5, and Kayda, 1, and am expecting another grandbaby in June.

Favorite food at BCM’s Luby’s? Angus chopped steak with broccoli and green beans…still waiting for fried okra to be served on that day.

Favorite BCM/Medical Center hangout? During the summer, I enjoy hanging out in the courtyard, watching students play Frisbee as I have lunch.
