The School of Health Professions at Baylor College of Medicine held a commencement ceremony for students in three of its programs this December: the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, the Orthotics and Prosthetics program and the Physician Assistant Program.
The Student Leadership Alliance created by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner serves the essential role of acting as an adviser to him on issues important to college students. Contributing to this committee is Baylor College of Medicine’s Catherine Yingyao Shao, a student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Baylor’s partnership with Houston health sciences-focused public schools is going strong, demonstrated by two recent events with our partner schools.
A group of medical and graduate school students at Baylor College of Medicine have launched a podcast to highlight research, healthcare and education at the College. Entirely student-run, the podcast, Resonance, offers the opportunity to learn about what’s going on at Baylor through the eyes of young trainees.
In September, Baylor’s Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery hosted the Welsh Minster for Education, Kirsty Williams, at the College as a part of an ongoing collaboration between Baylor and Swansea University in Wales.
