Months ago, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Baylor employee Asela Nieuwsma and her fiancé, BCM urology resident Alexander Liu, were faced with the news that their dream wedding wouldn’t go forward as planned. They decided to adapt to the situation and exchange vows in a scaled back ceremony.
Students, trainees, healthcare professionals and others from the Baylor community joined with peers from UTHealth, UTMB and other Texas Medical Center institutions for White Coats for Black Lives, Tuesday, June 2, at the Hermann Park Reflection Pool.

For over a decade, Baylor College of Medicine’s space-health institute has sponsored the Reach for the Stars STEM Festival at Rice University. The annual event aims to encourage middle school girls to take an interest in the sciences and provide them with a deeper understanding of the fields.
