For over a decade, Baylor College of Medicine’s space-health institute has sponsored the Reach for the Stars STEM Festival at Rice University. The annual event aims to encourage middle school girls to take an interest in the sciences and provide them with a deeper understanding of the fields.
It is not uncommon to see a homeless person during a walk in a city park or while driving around town, but many people barely give it a second thought and do not consider how someone becomes homeless and the factors that lead to living on the streets.
The Baylor College of Medicine Biotech Academy at Rusk celebrated its first graduating class to complete the three-year health science program in a ceremony held on May 29 at the TMC Innovation Institute. Baylor faculty and Rusk staff presented encouraging words and certificates of achievement to the 126 students moving forward into high school.
In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, students at the Baylor College of Medicine Biotech Academy at Rusk participated in several activities throughout April in partnership with faculty and staff from Baylor and Texas Children’s Hospital.
