Baylor offering more wellness opportunities in 2016

Last year, the wellness program at Baylor, BCM BeWell, increased its focus on employee health and wellbeing by introducing a steps-per-day challenge in which participants went on a virtual walk from Houston to Panama City – that’s 1,476,000 steps! Keep those walking shoes handy, because 2016 will feature another Getaway to Good Health challenge.

Pigeon research isn’t for the birds

Before the advent of modern communication, pigeons are said to have been used to send messages across long distances. Today, some special pigeons at Baylor are delivering messages of another sort – important information about what’s going on in the brain during navigation.

Baylor’s storied science editor to retire

Clumsy in her high school science class, Ruth SoRelle nevertheless had an interest in health and in uncovering what drives scientific discovery. When she combined that interest with her love of writing, she found her passion and embarked on a successful career as a science writer.
