A team of Baylor College of Medicine medical students and faculty advisors recently was selected to receive the 2018 Medical Student Service Leadership Project Grant, awarded by the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Students choose to attend Baylor College of Medicine so they can get high-quality training in science and medicine, but students may also come away with training in another area that they didn’t expect: running.
For many women, purchasing products for that “time of the month” is a part of their usual errands, but it’s not as easy for women living in poverty across the United States and across the world. Baylor students have joined the effort to make menstrual products accessible for all.
Medical students at Baylor have gotten back into their routine of attending classes, taking exams and training to become the healthcare professionals of tomorrow, but the effects of Hurricane Harvey on the community remain very much on their minds.
