For Dr. Sophia Banu, assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, helping people has always been her passion. With immense compassion and empathy, Banu has traveled all over the world to help people during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Designed as a treatment center that can be rapidly deployed for response to emergencies like the Ebola outbreak in Africa, the Smart Pod developed by Baylor Global Initiatives is now showing its versatility by being used for other aspects of patient care.
For many women, purchasing products for that “time of the month” is a part of their usual errands, but it’s not as easy for women living in poverty across the United States and across the world. Baylor students have joined the effort to make menstrual products accessible for all.
