Baylor College of Medicine celebrates an important milestone Sept. 15 – the 125th anniversary of the founding of the institution in Dallas. This set the course for Baylor’s eventual move to Houston as a founding member of the Texas Medical Center and rise to prominence in education, research and patient care.
On Aug. 15, Kylan Naidoo donned his white coat, marking the first milestone of medical school. It was the culmination of a long journey to Baylor College of Medicine that started back in sixth grade when he enrolled at Baylor College of Medicine Academy at James D. Ryan Middle School.
Twenty years later, Baylor College of Medicine continues to reflect on the special time when the Houston-area medical education community embraced its Louisiana neighbors and provided refuge from Hurricane Katrina.
Mental health professionals across the U.S. and Latin America strive to break the stigma and have constructive conversation about this disorder. In September, they will reunite for the fourth annual Latin American OCD Congress in Valparaíso, Chile.
More than 400 students started their educational journeys in Baylor College of Medicine programs this summer in areas spanning medicine, health professions and biomedical sciences.
