Select Baylor College of Medicine fourth-year medical students and residents were recently inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an international organization that recognizes, supports and promotes the values of humanism and professionalism in medicine.
About 240 sixth graders from the Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan spent half a day on the Baylor campus, during which they were welcomed to the Baylor family and given a glimpse of the commitment required for medical education and a career in the health sciences.
Ions flowing, proteins folding, channels opening, genomic codes – it is sometimes hard to picture the human side when basic science research is described. But for Dr. Edward C. Cooper, associate professor of neurology, molecular and human genetics, and neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine, the human connection is what keeps his research going.
Alex Hopkins joined Baylor in February as director of alumni affairs. That’s given him just enough time to settle in before hosting Reunion Weekend, which will be held April 4-6 on campus and at the Hotel ZaZa for class years ending in 4 and 9.
