Each year, Nurses Week is celebrated to recognize the important care that these healthcare professionals provide to patients, as well as their leadership in the clinics and other settings where they work. This year, we asked clinicians, administrators and others at Baylor College of Medicine about some of the nurses they work with.

Tracy Fletcher-Davies, B.S.N., M.S.ML., R.N.

“Ms. Tracy is the best manager I ever met. She is always in a positive mood, which encourages the team to have a positive attitude. She praises our work, and that makes team members perform well. She understands staff concerns and helps a lot in different ways. I have noticed that she really encourages the staff for continuous education by providing flexible work hours. She really encourages the staff to develop skills and advance in the job. She is very supportive and understandable and provides the guidance to learn the new things. She treats all the staff members in the same way, and she always communicates about clinic updates.” – Srivani Kambala, medical assistant

“From my end, she is amazing to work with. She serves as a calming agent for the clinic. She provides great advice and is a great example of what leadership should be.” – Eber Lopez, director of clinical operations

“Emily and Jennie joined us at Cardiology the same day. They both are very professional, friendly, team players, and they both go above and beyond to help our team and our patients. They are responsible for many different tasks, like INR clinic (monitoring for patients on anticoagulants), IVs for patients, medication samples, cardiac device checks, cardiac clearances and so much more.
