Greeting the seasons at Baylor College of Medicine

It may not have been lovely weather for a sleigh ride together, but Baylor College of Medicine rang in the holiday season with office parties, decorating contests, prize giveaways and singing seniors.

Here’s a roundup of holiday traditions, events and celebrations at Baylor:

On Dec. 8, the Silverado Sensations Choir perform holiday carols in Cullen Auditorium at main Baylor. The choir is made up of residents from Silverado Hermann Park Memory Care, an assisted living community that specializes in memory and dementia care. The singers donned their holiday apparel and performed several Christmas favorites, including a rousing rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

During the eight nights of Hanukkah, the Aishel House Menorah was placed in front of the Cullen Building since Moursund Street remains under construction near the Jewish Building. Each night, Rabbi Peretz Lazaroff arrived to light another lantern until all eight were lit on Dec. 15.

The annual Ugly Christmas Sweater contest and holiday treat extravaganza in Dr. James McDeavitt’s office was held Dec. 20. Thirteen people competed for Baylor’s ugliest sweater, and three came away with prizes and bragging rights.

Happy holidays from BCM Family! Check the photos below for more seasonal happenings around the College.
