Health Hint: Preventing skin cancer

Taking care of your health is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Baylor College of Medicine experts have plenty of tips to help you stay healthy. This month’s Health Hint offers tips to protect against skin cancer, since May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month.

Wearing sunscreen of at least SPF 30 is a good way to protect your skin from damage. However, sunscreen can only protect your skin for two hours. I suggest taking other preventative measures such as wearing long sleeves, hats and sunglasses for additional protection. And don’t forget an annual skin exam.”
