The 2016 Baylor College of Medicine graduating class, including 183 receiving medical degrees and 84 receiving doctorates, were advised to “be mindful,” challenged to continue community involvement and cheered by hundreds of family members and friends gathered in Jones Hall in downtown Houston for Commencement on May 31.
Baylor president, CEO and executive dean Dr. Paul Klotman recently told an assembly of more than 200 people that he fully expected one of them to have his job in the future. He wasn’t speaking to faculty members or even medical students but rather the inaugural graduates of the Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan.
Baylor College of Medicine faculty members selected as outstanding educators for 2016 were honored at the Medical Education Awards Ceremony held Thursday, May 19, in Baylor’s Cullen Auditorium.
Five Baylor College of Medicine faculty members whose work represents the College’s most significant published scientific contributions to clinical or basic research during the past three years have received the Michael E. DeBakey Excellence in Research Award.
