The You FIRST program at Baylor seeks to emphasize the value of employees across all mission areas by promoting morale through opportunities that help create a positive work environment for everyone. There are several upcoming You FIRST activities.
Casino night
The You FIRST Program will host a “Night of 1000 Stars” Celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Bayou City Event Center, 9401 Knight Road, Houston, TX 77045.
BCM faculty and staff are invited to attend a casino night with great food, music and prizes and the opportunity to interact with your own team members and meet new colleagues in other areas of the college. Unfortunately, guests cannot be accommodated for this event.

Management training
Two different management trainings will be offered in January. Faculty and staff in management and supervisory roles can register for either class.
“Leading through Influence” is a one-day course for faculty that offers techniques on hiring, conflict resolution and employee morale. This course also will include Insights Discovery, a four-color model designed to understand an individual’s unique working style and gain deeper insight into yourself and your colleagues. “Managing to the Mission” is a two-day course designed for those who are in supervisory or management roles. Topics will include leadership assessment, team building, hiring, progressive discipline and performance management. This course also will include Insights Discovery to help you understand an individual’s unique working style and gain deeper insight into yourself and your colleagues. Faculty and Staff of the Quarter Awards
Every quarter, the You FIRST program honors faculty and staff members from throughout the college for their exceptional work. The You FIRST program strives to create a positive work environment through the reward program and other events and activities.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate their deserving colleagues for these awards. The nomination process is quick and easy and can be completed online.
