The 12th Annual Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers Research Symposium gave faculty and trainees the opportunity to present their latest work but it was also noteworthy for bringing together the editors of the leading textbook on pediatric oncology. The symposium was held April 7 in the Texas Medical Center.
As a medical student, Dr. Jeremy Slone developed an interest in global health. He also was interested in pediatric oncology, but he didn’t know how to blend the two. He has found the perfect way to combine his medical interests – through the International Center at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers.
Students come to Baylor College of Medicine to learn the art of medicine, but if they look closely they may get an art education as well.
