Each year, Nurses Week is celebrated to recognize the important care that these healthcare professionals provide to patients, as well as their leadership in the clinics and other settings where they work. This year, we asked clinicians, administrators and others at Baylor College of Medicine about some of the nurses they work with.
National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 – 12, but this year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s especially important to recognize our nurses for the care they provide patients and their contributions to the mission of Baylor College of Medicine.
Every month we focus on an outstanding staff member of the BCM Family. This month, in honor of National Nurses Week, May 6 – 12, it’s Jennifer Cabrera with the Department of Medicine.
Ten years ago, Allison Carter was a medical assistant at Baylor, exploring the inclination she had that she wanted to go into nursing. Today, she is being recognized as one of the city’s top nurses through the Houston Chronicle’s Salute to Nurses awards program.
