A new Title IX coordinator has joined Baylor College of Medicine, while some familiar faces have taken on new leadership roles at the College.

Speaking at Baylor College of Medicine’s Virtual Commencement Ceremony Thursday, Dr. Paul Klotman, president, CEO and executive dean, told the students that crises bring out inspiration that is tangible, often through the actions of one individual.

Focus on education amidst pandemic

From implementing distance learning and organizing virtual research presentations through Zoom and other online programs to updating curriculum to include COVID coursework, educational leaders at Baylor College of Medicine are charting new territory during the coronavirus pandemic.

Students recognize mentors through new initiative

First-year medical students Sarah Durbin and Ben Holder have launched an initiative called the Professional Educator Appreciation and Recognition, or PEAR, Awards to recognize mentors who have had a significant impact on students during their medical training.
