Scientists train at Baylor to advance vaccines in home country

For some healthcare professionals, the COVID-19 pandemic was a decisive moment in medical history. Burnout and stress ran parallel to an increased interest in public health and safety, causing rifts in an industry that resulted in healthcare workers either taking their career exits or starting jobs in a time of crisis.

Promoting humanities in medicine to make better healthcare workers

After receiving a grant from the Association of American Medical Colleges in 2020, Drs. Ricardo Nuila, Andrew Childress and Larry Laufman, along with instructors Burke Nixon and Stacy Nigliazzo, launched the Humanities Expression and Arts Lab, under the Office of the Senior Dean, at Baylor College of Medicine.
