BCM’s Resource Stewardship and Sustainability Program (RSSP) has had another successful year of recycling, ranking as one of the top colleges in Texas for recycling, as it has for the past decade. The success of the program wouldn’t be possible without its devoted volunteers.
It’s been almost one year since Hurricane Harvey hit Houston with devastating rain. While many people affected by the flooding are still recovering and rebuilding, the College stands ready to help the Baylor and Houston community weather the next storm, just as it did last August.
Like many children, Baylor’s Dr. Nancy Moreno loved horses when she was young. She described herself as horse-crazy and dreamed of owning one. She wasn’t able to fulfill her childhood dream until she became an adult with children of her own.
While it’s a given that fine motor skills are important to learn when training to be a surgeon, there are other skills that are essential to a surgeon’s success: situational awareness, decision making, communication and teamwork, and leadership.
Dr. Susan Blaney, professor of pediatrics, has stepped into the role of director of Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers with a focus on providing high-quality, family-centered care, leading innovative research aimed at curing and preventing childhood cancer and blood disorders and providing world-class training and education to future leaders in the field.
