Made of Texas cream limestone and built in a modern deco design, Baylor’s Roy and Lillie Cullen Building has stood at the heart of the medical center since it opened in 1947. Now, in recognition of its significance locally and beyond, the building has been dedicated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
Baylor College of Medicine has supported the Houston Avon Walk since its inception eight years ago. In addition to serving as the official medical sponsor this year, providing care to more than 1,000 participants who walk 39 miles over two days, Baylor again hosted its popular cheer station for the walkers.
Colleagues, family and friends gathered for a reception in honor of Dr. J. David Holcomb on his retirement from Baylor College of Medicine last month.
An innovative and low-cost project designed to offer the BCM community insight into College leadership was awarded the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Institutional Advancement Award for Excellence in the Shoestring Communications category.
