Break out your boots, hats and belt buckles – it’s that time of year again. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will soon start its annual run at Reliant Park. For the convenience of BCM employees and trainees, tickets will be available for purchase in BCM’s Office of Communications and Marketing.

Last year, about $27,000 worth of tickets were sold through BCM, supporting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s mission to provide scholarships and other educational support to Houston area students.

It’s important to plan ahead, because tickets will only be available at BCM until Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. For those parents planning to take their children to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo during Spring Break, it’s especially important to get your tickets in advance to bypass the ticket lines on site.

Here are answers to some common questions about HLSR tickets sales at BCM:

What are the dates of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo? The HLSR will be held March 4 – 23.

When and where will tickets be on sale at BCM? Tickets are on sale now through Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. in the Office of Communications and Marketing, Room 176B.

What exactly can I buy through BCM and how much does it cost?

• Reliant Park Admission Tickets – allows entrance to the livestock show and carnival. This includes horse show events in Reliant Arena; the livestock show and entertainment, shopping and food exhibits in Reliant Center; the carnival rides, games and other activities such as pig races, petting zoo and food booths on the Reliant Park grounds. Adults (13 and up) – $15 / Children (3 to 12) – $5. This ticket does not include entrance to the concert and rodeo inside Reliant Stadium.

• Carnival Packs – two options are available:
  • $10 Carnival Pack ($30.50 value)
    • One Fun Card with 22 tickets (valid for games and rides)
    • $5 off Show merchandise
    • 4 refreshment coupons (redeemable for food and/or beverage purchases)
    • One free game coupon
• $50 Carnival Pack ($127.50 value)
  • Two Fun Cards with a total of 150 tickets (valid for rides and games)
  • One free ride on any Ferris wheel
  • One free ride on any fun house
  • Two free game coupons
  • Nine refreshment coupons (redeemable for food and/or beverage purchases)
  • $5 off Show merchandise

What if I plan to go more than once? Consider purchasing a season pass. Available for $25, this gives you unlimited Reliant Park admission. Again, it does not provide entrance to the concert and rodeo inside Reliant Stadium.

Is BCM selling tickets to the barbecue cookoff? Yes. The World’s Champion Bar-B-Que Contest is Feb. 27 – March 1. This ticket includes entrance to the cookoff, a barbecue plate and entrance to the carnival during these dates only. Adult (13 and up) – $15 / Child (3 to 12) – $5. 

If I buy Reliant Park Admission Tickets and/or Carnival Packs, do I have to go on a certain date? No, those can be used any time from March 3 – 23.

What type of payment is accepted? Cash and check only. Checks should be made out to Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, or HLSR.

Can I buy concert tickets at BCM? No, concert tickets are not for sale through Baylor College of Medicine. To purchase concert tickets, visit the HLSR website at rodeohouston.com.

Is BCM observing Go Texan Day? Yes. Go Texan Day is Friday, Feb. 28. BCM employees may wear Western attire, including jeans, within department guidelines.
